How and why I began site

This site is a week old. I did an opening post About me page but I feel a need to keep of record of the site and my illness/wellness.
I will post my thoughts and status here.

About six months ago I was diagnosed with aspergillus. Not a lot was explained about it and to be honest I didn't want to know. I had enough on my plate being in almost permanent pain due to other lung problems including multiple collapsed lungs, and tb scarring.

Then last week I coughed up blood. Thick lumpy blood. It terrified me but I didn't attend hospital as advised. I decided the packed hospitals with their so called quademic of respiratory diseases would not be the place for me.

Luckily I haven't had a repeat.

Many years ago when I had tb I set up a website. Researching it helped me and many others understand the disease. It helped me mentally too.
I am now doing the same hoping to build a site with information in layman's terms.

The National Aspergillosis Centre Support (UK) have an excellent Facebook page and large community. I hope Im not in trouble and I hope they dont mind I have some of their posts on this site that link back to Facebook.
I have made their World Aspergillus day post a GLOBAL ANNOUNCEMENT meaning it appears at the top every forum.
I dont like Facebook I prefer a website format where questions and answers are more easily found.

Also the tech owners of Facebook and twitter have now shown their hands as to political affiliations (I think they should have stay neutral).
So I very rarely use Facebook and am moving to bluesky instead of twitter
