Apples and Lung health
Apples have many health benefits including:
Antioxidants: Apples are rich in antioxidants, particularly quercetin. Quercetin is often used to treat conditions affecting the heart and blood vessels.
Granny was always right! EAT YOUR APPLE SKINS!
They contain loads of Quercetin
Antioxidants help protect cells from damage caused by free radicals, which are known to contribute to lung inflammation.
Reduced Lung Decline: Studies have shown that people who eat apples regularly may experience a slower decline in lung function, especially former smokers.
Reduced Risk of COPD: Apple consumption has been linked to a lower risk of developing chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Reduced Risk of Asthma and Lung Cancer:Some research suggests that apples may also help reduce the risk of asthma and lung cancer.
However, it's important to note that while apples can be part of a healthy diet for lung support, they shouldn't be considered a standalone solution. A balanced diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains is crucial for overall lung health.
